Hay Feeder – The sophisticated solution for species-appropriate and clean hay feeding

The hay feeder was developed for daily use in the stable and combines functionality, safety, and easy handling. It enables clean, horse-friendly hay feeding and at the same time facilitates refilling.

Easy Refilling

Refilling the hay feeder is particularly straightforward: only one carabiner needs to be opened, after which the slow feeder can be folded upwards. This allows the hay to be filled in comfortably.

Depending on the hay structure, the hay feeder holds approx. 6–8 kg of hay.

Robust and Safe Material

The hay feeder is made of unbreakable and splinter-proof plastic and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The flexible material ensures additional safety and minimizes the risk of injury.

Sophisticated Safety Concept

Safety is the top priority in the development of the hay feeder. Therefore, the bottom is fixed with cable ties. These serve as a predetermined breaking point and tear out in an emergency to minimize the risk of injury to the horse.

The slow feeder is also secured with SafeGums. These elastic fastenings also serve as a predetermined breaking point and give way in an emergency, so that the horse can free itself in an emergency.

Slow Feeder System

Various slow feeder variants are available for the hay feeder.

Various options are available as slow feeders: high-quality hay net frames made of aluminum or stainless steel with durable nets in various mesh sizes, as well as the popular feeding grilles in different hole sizes. This allows the hay feeder to be optimally adapted to the individual needs of your animals and supports controlled, species-appropriate feed intake.

The slow feeder is guided by an integrated guide system and sinks evenly downwards as the hay level decreases. This ensures that the hay remains easily accessible for the horse at all times and the feeding speed is naturally slowed down.

Mounting

We recommend mounting the hay feeder firmly to the wall. If this is not possible, it can alternatively be hung up. For maximum stability, however, wall mounting is the preferred option.

Scope of Delivery

The hay feeder is delivered as a kit for self-assembly.

We would be happy to advise you personally on choosing the right product for you and your horse. The selection of the right slow feeder is crucial for your horse's health and for the optimal function of our products.

We ask for your understanding that used products are excluded from exchange for hygienic reasons.

Our hay net frames are made from high-quality materials. The frame can be made of either aluminum or stainless steel.

The stainless steel version can be opened by loosening the stainless steel connectors. This allows the hay net to be replaced easily. We particularly recommend this for horses with respiratory diseases, as the hay nets can be washed regularly.

We exclusively use high-quality hay nets manufactured in Europe.

The correct choice of mesh size depends on both the hay structure and the individual feeding behavior of the horse. The appropriate mesh size is crucial for the functionality and longevity of the hay nets.

Please note that eating from our hay boxes is generally more challenging for horses than eating from a hanging hay net.

We therefore recommend choosing a larger mesh size initially and only reducing it after an acclimatization period.

Please note that for hygienic reasons, used hay net frames cannot be exchanged.

Our feed grids are made from high-quality plastic. The material is food-safe, as well as break-proof and splinter-proof.
The plastic was deliberately chosen to be softer than the horses' tooth enamel, making it particularly gentle on teeth and gums.

The feed grids are particularly suitable for horses with respiratory diseases, as rooting through the hay with their nose is limited, which can reduce dust intake.

Choosing the right hole size is crucial for the product's functionality. It should be selected to match the hay structure and the horse's individual feeding behavior.
We recommend starting with larger holes and only reducing the size after an acclimatization period.

We would be happy to advise you on selecting the appropriate hole size.

Please note that, for hygienic reasons, feed grids are excluded from exchange once used.
An incorrectly chosen hole size does not constitute a reason for complaint.
