The correct choice of mesh size depends on both the hay structure and the individual eating behaviour of the horse. The appropriate mesh size is crucial for the functionality and longevity of the hay nets.
Please note that eating from hay boxes is generally more challenging for horses than eating from a hanging hay net.
We therefore recommend choosing a larger mesh size initially and only reducing it after an acclimatisation period.
